Hi

Hi, I’m Jason.

I’m a Play Therapist and Family Therapist. (But you might also call me a child-development and de-escalation expert…and a family-fun instigator!)

Who I work with

I help families, kids and teens who feel anxious, frustrated and overwhelmed.

We take a step back from where they’re stuck and envision what their dream is, what they really wish things were like. That becomes our destination.

WhAt I do

I equip families with tools to understand what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what to do about it. That means looking at how the brain works and how you can best work with it, exploring patterns of interaction in your family and how needs get expressed and met. We’ll also practice ways to use effective strategies at home. These together will help to bring out the best in each other to get to that dream.

If you prefer specifics, I use the best of evidence-based practices like Child-Centered Play Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy and Neurobiological Play Therapy with Structural Family Therapy and Family Play Therapy. These help you change patterns in boundaries and limit-setting, create an intentional family culture, and understand how you work individually and as a family.

The difference it can make

I know from working with hundreds of families (and even my own family), with anxious, angry and attention-seeking kids, how overwhelming it can be. Boarding school might feel like a good option sometimes! Yet, those same families thank me later for how empowered they feel, how effectively they can target problems and know just what to do.

“I never thought we'd get here. We have not only seen a huge change in our son, but my husband and I feel better equipped to deal with any episodes. Jason has educated us along the way using the ACT model. It is bittersweet for sure and we have shed many tears as our chapter with him ends. Check him out! He is worth every penny.”

You know how when you find something that actually works, you can’t wait to tell everyone? Well, that’s me, with you, right now! There’s some really cool stuff we can do, and it really works!

If that sounds good to you, let’s talk.

I’m creative, battle-hardened, loyal and I can critically think with nuance while being attacked from all sides!

I’ve raised 4 kids and 4 dogs and lived to tell about it!

Married over 25 years (we’re still in love and it’s going great!)

Can dual wield lightsabers and battle 4 kids simultaneously. (more of a necessity than an achievement)

Can roast my own coffee from green coffee beans.

I make paintings, draw and play a lot of instruments.
