The Unseen Language of Play

Have you every wondered what your child’s play means? Sometimes parents will ask things like “what does it mean when he shoots me with a gun?” or “what does does it mean when she knocks over the tower we just spent a long time building?” or even “why so many tea parties?”

Kids process their thoughts, feelings and experiences in their play, so most of it does have meaning for them (though they might not always be able to articulate it and may just say “I’m just having fun”).

In this video, you’ll get some ideas for things you can observe at home, at school or wherever your kids play! We’ll dive into this more in future videos…
