Flipping Your Lid 5 - Putting It All Together

We're at the end of the "Flipping Your Lid" series and it's time to take a look at how all this works together. There's a lot of nuance that can happen in the moment. You'll have to decide if you're seeing watchdog (fight/flight) or possum (freeze/collapse) kind of behaviors and adjust things accordingly. In this video, we'll take a look at an example of "collapse" and helping get the lid back.

For the purpose of the demonstration, everything happens very neatly and succinctly. It's not always that way. Sometimes you won't be able to do all the 3 R's at one time. I have found times where there needs to be a break, so kids don't get overwhelmed and you have to regulate all over again. Other times, especially as kids increase their window of tolerance, it can go this quickly.

In the next videos, we'll look at how to set limits with kids in a way that helps keep things calm and gets good results!
